OPPORTUNITY, OPTIMISM, OPENNESS: Facilitator Contracting - Negotiating with Clients

When meeting with a client, can we facilitate a design conference to get all the information that is needed without wearing the client out with exhaustive questioning? What key questions should be answered as the result of an effective design conference? What makes a good proposal with regard to objectives, content, terms, discounts, cancellation policy and change of scope? How precise should the design be in a proposal? These and other important questions will be addressed for both self-employed facilitators and facilitators who serve as internal resources in their organizations.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Mirja P. Hanson will lead us in examining the important facets of facilitator contracting. Mirja has three decades of experience facilitating group decision-making and policy consensus-building in hundres of communities, school districts, agencies, nongovernmental organizations and corporations. She is author of the book: Clues to Achieving Concensus: A Leader's Guide to Navigating Collaborative Problem Solving.
